Summer Student Call for Applications

Beard Winter LLP is pleased to announce that in the early spring of 2011 the firm will be hiring second year law students to fill our Summer Law Student positions for the period of two months.

Your application should include:

1) A cover letter (clearly indicating in your re line "Summer Student Application 2010")
2) A current resume
3) Both undergraduate and law school transcripts
4) A list of current courses in which you are enrolled.

Dates for submitting applications will be announced in early months of 2011.

Summer Student Program Overview

The summer student program at Beard Winter offers an 8-10 week experience of working in a downtown, full-service law firm environment. The condensed program is open to second year law school students and allows individuals to pursue other opportunities for the remaining part of the summer period.

While there is no set "rotation" during the summer term, every attempt is made to ensure students have exposure to all our areas of practise. Our open-door mentoring policy allows students to gain advice and guidance as they engage in a wide range of tasks from research and due diligence to hands-on court appearances. Our summer program is designed to give students an idea of what to expect, should they return as an articling student.

We believe that training to eventually become a lawyer at Beard Winter begins as early as possible. Our summer program was created with this philpsophy in mind.

Beard Winter's summer students typically begin mid May and finish late July.
