Director, Information Technology

We are looking for a Director, Information Technology, to join our administrative team.

Plans, develops and implements the firm’s technology to enhance and support its goals and objectives.  Defines and administers information technology policies and procedures.  Reviews and analyses the firm’s business requirements in reference to equipment, support, training and information systems.

Manages the firm’s information technology team, and takes a hands on role in the day to day activities of the department.


10 years of relevant experience in managing IT functions and departments, dealing with information handling, workflow and systems.  At least 3 years of direct, senior level management of an IT operation is preferred.  Law firm experience is preferred.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation and coordination of the information systems for the firm.
  • Takes a hands-on approach to ensure continuous delivery and operation of integrative front and back end systems to support the legal and administrative groups of the firm.
  • Responsible for the coordination, facilitation, and consultation with all of the firm’s lawyers and staff on information systems, communications, and management systems.
  • Ensure that the firm’s technology is current in comparison within the industry and amongst other firms of similar size.
  • Will serve and participate proactively with other members of the management team in developing and executing strategic plans, aimed at the optimization of the use of IT in support of the firm’s business objectives.
  • Participate in policy and decision-making at the firm level regarding resource allocation and future direction and control of information systems technology.
  • Develop, document, and maintain enterprise systems, architecture, defining standards and protocols for data exchange, communication and software.
  • Design medium and long term technology roadmaps, and align current work with these plans.
  • Communicate and maintain a professional approach and the ability to influence multiple audiences (e.g. vendors, peers, clients, management, etc.).
